In Smart Home Killer, when a woman ends her relationship with her latest boyfriend, a home security expert who installed her smart home system.

Following the breakup, he continues to harass her until she files a restraining order that pushes him over the edge. He then hacks into her network and makes her and her daughter a prisoner in their own home.
